Join our Music Ministry

We are so excited that you are interesting in joining our team! Please completely read through our expectations and pray about committing to this ministry. Fill out the form below after accepting and agreeing to the expectations.

Practice : Tuesday afternoons - 6PM
Sunday Soundcheck : 9:30AM
This expectation is #1 for a reason. Grapes do not grow apart from the vine. We have to be connected to Jesus to grow and bear fruit. Without fruit, we can't help or lead anyone. If we remain in Him we can do much for the Kingdom of God. Without Him, we are nothing. (Read for yourself in John 15: 4-5) Straight talk: If the stage is the only place you seek God, then you should not be on the stage.
Expectation #2 is not about attendance, although that one is coming. This expectation is about not being a music snob. Supporting other ministries and building relationships with our church family, not only will help you and your spiritual walk, but it will help strengthen this ministry. Remember we are LIVING PROOF!
Expectation #3 sounds a little like #2, it must be important not to be a music snob. We are not divas or pop-stars, we are SERVANTS. Desire to be a servant with a spirit of excellence! Straight Talk: If you get upset if you are not on the front row, you need to be on the back row. If you get salty when asked to share your mic or solo with another person, you should not have either.
Expectation #4 is a strength for our MD instead of a hindrance for worship. Work as a team. I am the first to say "how do we fix it" or "what would you do" to our members with more musical knowledge. Let's continue to use that "thick skin" when someone is trying to help or when your advice is not taken. We are going to PRAISE HIM no matter what, so when all else fells we will do it A CAPELLA and in UNISON
Please download the band app. Make sure you have your notifications ON so you get important notices and don't show up to cancelled practices.
Expectation #6 is key to having productive practices and sound checks.  Strive to be EARLY and you will always be ON TIME!  When coming in on Tuesday evenings, you should already know the practice list. The "New Songs" playlist will always be posted to the notices so listen to those as much as you can to get familiar. We could be learning those next week or next month, either way you are prepared.
Expectation #7 is about keeping the attention off of ourselves! ANY distraction will keep people from looking at Jesus. We have to be careful not to be that distraction by dressing appropriately and being mindful of our appearance on stage. EVERYTHING we do is on camera, live streamed for the world to see. Request from the Director: Apparently it's my job to tell you if you need to cover up...DON'T MAKE ME DO THAT

All of the previous expectations are irrelevant without #8. This expectation is for ministry excellence, other ministry members and your own personal walk. If we constantly miss practice, how can we do our best? Showing up randomly is disrespectful to other ministry members who sacrifice to be there all the time. Sunday mornings are when we come to refill and refuel for the week ahead.  Communication is important for me to know you care about this ministry. If I don't hear from you in weeks, I will assume that you have taken a step back. The process to rejoin will include, being at practices as well as consecutive Sundays in the congregation. After that we will pray together about the next steps.
